1959 As an effect of the accelerated economic growth and the expansion of the international trade relations of Romania, it is decided to build an exhibition center, using avant-garde architectural solutions for that period.
1960 The plans of the Central Pavilion - the Dome (currently Pavilion A) are realized.
1962 It is inaugurated to the Central Pavilion - Cupola with an exhibition area of 15,000 sqm. The architecture of the pavilion is one of the most outstanding in Europe, becoming emblematic for modern Bucharest. The beneficiary of the work is the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.
1963 The Exhibition Office is set up within the Chamber of Commerce of Romania.
1964 The Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy - EREN, important Romanian event inaugurating the Central Pavilion, is being held. In order to organize, the first urban and urban arrangements are made in the perimeter of what later becomes the Romexpo Exhibition Center.
1968 The Exhibition Office becomes the Fair and Exhibition Company specialized in organizing exhibitions in the country as well as of the official Romanian participation in fairs abroad.
1969 A new EREN edition is organized, the event continuing to be organized every five years under the name adapted by EDES, that is, the Exhibition of Economic-Social Development.
1970 The first edition of the TIB Bucharest International Fair is organized, attended by over 1,000 exhibitors from 30 countries (of which 18 with official participation) on a total area of 70,000 square meters.
1974 The Fair and Exhibition Company is established, a unit with legal personality of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, specially constituted for the organization of fairs and exhibitions in the country and of the Romanian participants at exhibition events abroad.
1974 The first edition of the TIBCO International Consumer Goods Fair is organized, an international trade show focused on textiles and clothing, footwear, glassware, porcelain and faience, furniture, cosmetics, detergents, dyes, synthetic fibers, plastics products, products of the electrical and electronic industry, crafts. Starting with the next assignment, the profile has been expanded with agri-food products.
1981 The TIB Bucharest International Fair and the TIBCO International Consumer Goods Fair are merging, becoming a single annual event.
1984 The Fair and Exhibition Company is reorganized which, by unification with the Advertising Agency for Foreign Trade, Publicom becomes the Fair for Trade, Exhibitions and Advertising for Foreign Trade.
1990 It is initiated the strategic program of diversification of the structure of the exhibition events, so that from an annual general manifestation it is reached, gradually, to over 40 fairs, exhibitions and trade shows.
1991 Based on the law 31/1990, by transforming the Fair, Exhibition and Advertising Company for Foreign Trade, Romexpo S.A., a trading company with Romanian capital having as majority shareholder the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, is established.
1991 The first edition of the International Exhibition of Medical Equipment and Instrumentation ROMMEDICA is organized.
A long-term partnership with IEG GIMA from Solingen was established for the organization of the group of exhibitions dedicated to health ROMMEDICA, ROMPHARMA, ROMCONTROLA, ROMOPTIK and ROMLABOR.
1992 The first edition of the international fair specialized in furniture, wood processing, accessories, interior decorations, equipment and installations for the exploitation of BIFE-TIMB wood is organized.
1993 Romexpo S.A. Become a member of the World Association of Exhibition Industry (UFI), the most important profile association in the world.
As a recognition of international quality and prestige, the TIB International Technical Fair is the first UFI accredited event.
At the same time, the Romexpo trademark is registered with the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks under the name "romexpo s.a - fairs and exhibitions",
1994 The TIBCO International Consumer Goods Fair becomes an approved UFI event.
The mark "Romexpo Exhibition Complex" with the Romexpo logo are registered with OSIM.
1994 The Exhibition Center, modern and extended, has 8 pavilions with a total indoor exhibition area of approximately 46,000 square meters and outdoor platforms of over 25,000 square meters.
The Romexpo Conference and Congress Center is inaugurated, consisting of the rooms Titulescu, Madgearu, Brancusi, Eminescu and Sadoveanu. Also available are the Marble Hall and the Press Center Hall.
1994 The International Exhibition of materials, semi-finished products, accessories, equipment and technologies for the construction and construction materials industry is launched (CONSTRUCT EXPO).
1995 The ROMMEDICA, ROMPHARMA and ROMCONTROLA fairs become UFI approved fairs
1996 The first edition of the international fair INDAGRA is organized, an event specialized in equipment and products of agriculture, animal husbandry and food industry.
The first edition of the international exhibition of equipment and technologies for environmental protection is organized (ROMENVIROTEC).
1999 The first edition of the TTR Tourism Fair is organized, the largest exhibition in Romania dedicated to the tourism industry.
1999 ASOEXPO, the Association of Exhibition Organizers from Romania, is constituted, Romexpo being one of the founding members.
The collaboration with the National Association of Tourism Agencies (ANAT) is initiated for organizing the first edition of the Romanian Tourism Fair.
2002 The Romexpo Business Center / Romexpo Business Center opens.
2003 Romexpo S.A. Become a member of the Association of Exhibitors and Organizers in Central and Eastern Europe (CEFA), an association that aims to open its members and partners (exhibitors, sponsors, VIPs, etc.) new markets of interest.
2004 Romexpo S.A. becomes a member of the International Union of Statistical Indicators (CENTREX).
2005 Collaboration begins with the Association of Furniture Manufacturers (APMR) for the organization of the international fair of furniture, equipment and accessories BIFE-TIMB
2007 Romexpo S.A. she becomes a member of the Association of Organizers of Agricultural Fairs in Europe (EURASCO).
The INDAGRA international fair becomes an approved UFI event.
2008 The international fair of furniture, equipment and accessories BIFE-TIMB becomes an approved UFI event.
2011 Romexpo S.A. is certified, according to the ISO 9001 standard, by the TUV Thuringen body.
The collaboration with the Association of Dental Products Suppliers (AFPSR) for the organization of the DENTA exhibition begins.
2012 The fairs ENVIRONMENT EXPO, CONSTRUCT EXPO, TTR receive the approval of the UFI, due to the high quality standards and the degree of internationalization.
2015 Romexpo S.A. hosts the General Assembly of the International Union of Statistical Indicators - CENTREX.
2016 an ambitious program for the development and modernization of the Romexpo Exhibition Center was launched.
It started with the opening of the gates for Bucharest, for Romexpo to become the center of the great urban relaxation.
In December 2017, new exhibition spaces, pavilions B, have been used.
